Watermelon rain

Creative use of the elements of a watermelon to convey rain. Goes to show that there are endless possibilities of expression with even the most mundane of objects.

Christmas cards experiment

Handmade Christmas cards to put next to presents; the letter stands for the name of the person who is to receive the gift - makes it easier to know which present is for us.

Development of Time brief

Time brief - Visualise time (24 hours/1 year)
Before feedback and after. I was told I wasn't showing enough information (it felt like the tip of the iceberg) and that the positioning of the organs made it look like there was a little monster in there. I decided to turn it into an infographic spread, which could be used as a newspaper spread, book sign or leaflet.

Stitched Superhero Alphabet

Awesome stitch work from Pixel People. Love the fact that they're created an entire alphabet of superheroes, all in this unique and lovely medium.

Illustration extravaganza

I recently stumbled upon a very creative and highly skilled illustrator, Gordon Reid a.k.a. MiddleBoop (See his work here: http://www.middleboop.com/). I was mesmerised by his detailed work and great use of mixed media. He is not afraid to use colour in his designs - bold, bright colour. I am definitely going to return to his website on a regular basis, as his stuff is inspirational!

UK Seasons Pictograms

Development of brief. We were given the task to create 4 black and white pictograms to represent the 4 UK seasons. At first, I wanted to show the change in shoes that people wear in different seasons, but I soon realised that this was a highly subjective take on the matter. I knew I needed to create something universal, that everyone could relate to. Thus, I turned to the degree Celsius sign. This represents temperature, and by changing the look of the actual degree circle, I clearly show the changes in weather that temperature brings. Last image shows my final designs.
